About the author

Zach Nelson

Zach joined ACT in 2020. He provides support for a wide range of fundraising activities to help further ACT’s mission, and plays a critical role in the organization’s external and internal reporting functions as well as grant management. Prior to joining ACT, Zach spent time at the Smithsonian Recovering Voices Initiative, the Latin America and Caribbean department of the National Endowment for Democracy, and the Carnegie Institution for Science. Zach received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of South Dakota. During his time as an undergraduate, Zach was an archaeology field-school student at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chavín de Huántar, Perú. He is currently completing his M.A. in Anthropology at George Mason University and received a FLAS fellowship in 2019 to study Quechua, an indigenous, South American language, in Cusco, Perú. In his free time, Zach enjoys gardening and drawing.
