Note: all following policies on donor information collected on the ACT website are also applicable to information collected from offline donors. ACT will not share or sell a donor's personal information collected through any medium with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

ACT is thankful for the financial support of our donors and constituents, and we take the security of your credit card and personal information seriously.

In order to assure you that this information is secure, ACT has partnered with Authorize.net to process your online credit card donation through a secure connection. In addition, with one-time donations via our site, your credit card number is not stored on our server or in our database.

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you make a donation, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.

When donating or subscribing on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

How do we use your information?

How do we protect your information?

All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway provider’s database to be accessible only by those authorized with special access rights to such systems; these authorized persons are required to keep your information confidential.

After a transaction, your private financial information (credit card numbers, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Anonymous Donations

If you would like to make an anonymous gift to ACT, your donation will remain so to the extent that we will never publicly recognize your name in printed or online publications. Depending on the method of payment, such as credit card or check, ACT must gather your billing and contact information in order to complete the gift transaction and to provide to you, if appropriate, a tax-deductible receipt. In addition, per the terms of our privacy policy, your information will not be shared with any other organization, corporation or individual except in fulfillment of your donation or request. However, in accordance with federal regulations your name may appear in our publicly disclosed federal 990 tax form sent to the Internal Revenue Service.
