Here's what your much-needed contributions can do:

• $50 will supply park guards with one year's worth of batteries for GPS devices, so that they can collect essential biological and cultural data.
• $250 will pay one month's salary of a shaman to teach indigenous schoolchildren traditional medicinal knowledge, passing on knowledge that otherwise would be lost.
• $500 will provide one 3 to 5 day workshop to teach an indigenous group to map ancestral territories in order to legally document their traditional lands.
• $1,500 will supply an entire classroom of 20 indigenous children with one year of school supplies and agricultural equipment so they can become future environmental stewards.
• $5,000 will pay the salary of an indigenous park guard for one year to monitor land borders for illegal activities, such as logging and mining.
