Members of TALAWA indigenous association for peoples of southern Suriname during a meeting

In 2006, ACT helped Trio and Wayana representatives establish TALAWA (Tareno ma Wajanaton-Akoronmato), the first official indigenous association for land management and sustainable community development in southern Suriname. ACT has provided training to TALAWA's membership in administrative and accounting procedures, and advises the association on an as-needed basis.
